Restaurant in Vernazza

Another of the Cinque Terre villages. Amazing setting for a restaurant - didn't go there but would be a very special memory I'm sure.

Cinque Terre - Manarolo village

These villages ( 5 in total ) are a short distance by train from where we were staying. We set off early to walk the path and steps that link all 5 villages - about 9km total distance and this takes about 5 hours. It's a world heritage site and well worth visiting if you're in Northern Italy. Our plans were foiled as there were closures to the main paths to the first 2 villages. There was an alternative track but would take 3 times as long. We had to modify our plans which was not what we expecting but the tracks are very high maintenance with slips happening regularly.

Nuovo Riviera Hotel

Stayed at this privately owned small hotel when we were last here in Santa Margherita. The hotel is owned and run by the Sabini family.Roger and Robyn Millinchip as well as Paul and Bev Robinson have stayed other times there and it is quite unique. They gave us a discount this time as well as an upgrade to a room with a balcony.

View from Villa gardens

We had a few drinks here overlooking part of Santa Margherita and the boat harbour when we got married.

Revisiting the Villa Durazzo

We got married 8 years ago at this Villa and when we were visiting this time they were getting ready for another wedding later that afternoon.
